SOCIAL WORK EVALUATIONS
Deborah Henson, LCSW, JD, LL.M. (MSW – Tulane, 1977; JD – Loyola, 1991; LL.M. – UC Berkeley, 1993). Deb is a LCSW in Louisiana and Texas. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor in the State of Texas.
Adoption Home Studies
Deb has conducted home studies for numerous individuals and couples who are in the process of adopting, either domestically or internationally. She conducts interviews at the adoptive individual’s or couple’s home in most cases after the initial office session. For fee information, please contact Deb.
School Placement Evaluations
Deb worked for five years with emotionally disturbed, behavior disordered, gifted, and regular education children in the New Orleans Public Schools. She collaborated with teams of educational specialists, including school psychologists and educational consultants. Deb provided ongoing teacher and parent consultation for placement issues with children in the public schools and has offered similar services in private practice when parents or teachers need a qualified clinical social worker to assess a child’s school placement in terms of social development appropriateness and behavior modification recommendations. Professional fees include time spent observing in the classroom, consulting with the teacher and other school personnel, as well as office visits with child(ren) and parents. If necessary for school requirements, a written report and recommendation can be furnished and alternative school placements investigated.
